WXW Show for Darren Aronofsky's "The Wrestler" Was a Roaring Success!

WXW would like to thank all of the great fans who helped make this past weekend’s filming of Darren Aronofsky’s “The Wrestler” so special. For two days, Hasbrouck Heights, NJ’s Pioneer Club was transformed into a multifunctional movie set.  On both Friday and Saturday night, in-ring scenes featuring famed actor Mickey Rourke (9 ½ Weeks, Sin City) were filmed in front of our fantastic live crowds, creating a uniquely interactive movie making experience.

At ringside all weekend was Mickey Rourke's trainer, 2007 WWE Hall of Famer Afa the Wild Samoan, proudly overseeing the wrestling action. In addition to the matches, several locker room scenes were filmed featuring some of your favorite WXW superstars.

On behalf of the WXW wrestlers, we would personally like to thank Afa the Wild Samoan for giving us this amazing opportunity and once-in-a-lifetime experience that we never would have received without his guidance and support. Thank you Pops!
In between scene filmings, fans were treated to raffles and official WXW matches that nearly blew the roof off the Pioneer Club.  Keep checking back with WXWwrestling.com for updates on this highly-anticipated film!
