Wild Samoan Training Center Spotlight- David MacPherson

Everyone knows that the Wild Samoan Training Center in Allentown, PA has consistently been considered the most well-respected, professional, all-around best schooling facility for pro wrestlers far and wide. Ask WWE Smackdown's Batista. Ask WWE Raw's Snitsky. Ask cruiserweight revolutionary Billy Kidman, or a host of other world-famous wrestling superstars who have earned their stripes under the guidance of the WSTC and its head trainer, the legendary WWE Hall of Famer Afa "The Wild Samoan".

Make no mistake about it, the Wild Samoan Training Center's reputation goes well beyond the Pennsylvania region. In fact, it goes beyond our entire nation, as wrestling hopefuls all over the world have consistently pursued the opportunity to train there.

Meet David MacPherson, a 22-year-old resident of the United Kingdom. After a brief flirtation with semi-professional soccer, a growing passion for wrestling led him to pursue several years of preliminary training. However, his true goal was to train and perform in the United States, and he knew exactly where he needed to go to make that dream a reality.

"As a huge fan of the sport, I knew about the Wild Samoans and how successful they had been in the business," explained MacPherson. "I logged onto their website and out of everywhere I had looked, realized that this was the place where I would be most at home. Everything on the site was so professionally done and wasn't ambiguous like most training school websites .The Wild Samoan Training Center offered me exactly what I wanted nad told me straight up how it was going to go down."

"I arranged a tryout and flew out in May to meet everyone," he continues. "I strolled into the gym and was in awe of the facilities...in the UK, its very rare to have a full-size 20 foot ring in a permanent facility let alone TWO full-size rings! Afa made me feel very comfortable about how he would help me achieve my goals and that I would be looked after. There was no doubt in my mind that this is where I wanted to be."

Realizing the quality education that was only available at the WSTC, MacPherson quickly arranged for the biggest opportunity of his young career...a chance to learn the tricks of the wrestling trade from the patriarch of the most successful wrestling family in the history of the sport. After a three month stay, he is still raving about his experience.

"My work has improved so much that I recently won an award for Best Technical Wrestler 2007 in my region," MacPherson exclaims proudly, having since returned to the United Kingdom. "It has opened a whole new side of me, my crowd interaction has improved along with my psychology and in-ring performance, my fitness has increased and my work ethic. At the WSTC I was introduced to many legends of the business, which has shown me how important respect is. If there is one thing that I have come away with that will help me the most is the respect of the business. I think for anyone who wants to come and train at the WSTC I can say that it is the greatest place to learn and appreciate the business. It is the most humble place for anyone who wants to make it. I have definitely found my place and I will always make sure that I come back.

"Basically, bottom line is that coming to the WSTC has opened my eyes to the wonderful world of pro wrestling and given me the tools and the light to continue my journey down the long dark road ahead of me!"

Certainly, David MacPherson looks forward to his next opportunity to train with the Wild Samoan Training Center, just as Afa and his fellow trainers look forward to his return, along with the arrivals of more and more dedicated athletes from all over the world looking to train with the very best.
